Launching The Palace Client
After downloading and successfully installing the Palace client, you should see the Palace software on your desktop. If you see it already, you can proceed to the next step. If you don't see the Palace software open on your desktop, go to Start Menu, Programs, The Palace, and select The Palace32.
A series of windows will appear. If you never had a registered version of The Palace on that computer, there will be a registration panel in the center. If you have a registration code, click on "Use Your Registration Code". If not, click on "Stay a Guest for Now". Most servers are set up so guests have all the features that registered users have.

Next you will see a name selection panel. Enter the name you want to use where you see New Friend. If you don't want to see this panel each time you launch the Palace client, deselect (uncheck) the box that says "Show this dialog at startup". Click OK when ready.
You will now connect to the Welcome Palace Portal, where you can select a destination. Move your mouse over the small images to see descriptions of the Palaces. Clicking on a small image will transport you to that Palace, where you can try all the features of your Palace software.

To find out where all the people are, try the Palacetools.com Live Directory, which is organized by population, and click on the small yellow smiley faces next to the Palace listings to visit Palaces.

When you first install the Palace client, the Bookmarks Menu has some links that point to places that have moved. Don't worry about the old bookmarks, make new ones! When you find Palaces you like, use the Bookmarks Menu, and select "Add Palace To Bookmarks" to make it easy to return.
